The Genoa Boat Show started with humble beginnings in the year 1962. It was an exhibition that was on the small side with only 30,000 square meters of exhibition space tucked into the Genoa Trade Fair. The show was an exclusive event at the time with an audience that was restricted. In 1966 the Genoa Boat Show began their partnership in planning the event with a nautical industry association, the UCINA. Today the Genoa Boat Show is recognized by the prestigious International Federation Boat Show Organizers or the IFBSO and every year, not only its size but its fame has grown in leaps and bounds. Today the show encompasses more than 288,000 square meters with exhibitors from all over the world. It has become a principal event for the European boat industry and maritime fans.
